In the early hours of Wednesday morning, at approximately 2am, a large force of the Israeli Army surrounded Al Far’a refugee camp, located between Nablus and Tubas, and entered the camp terrorising sleeping residents. The Army entered several houses under the pretext of searching for ‘wanted’ persons, kidnapping a number of young men.
The youth of the camp attempted to defend residents from the terrorising Army. They were met with a barrage of tear gas, stun grenades and live ammunition. Two young men were injured with live ammunition, one, Saed al-Ghoul, was shot in the abdomen.
While terrorising homes the Army let off an explosive devise inside the home of Mujahid Sawalmah, setting fire to the home and causing its partial collapse.
Al Far’a camp resides are refugees from various villages in historical Palestine. Under international law, reaffirmed each year by the UN, the refugees have the right to return to their homes.
