As is sadly all too familiar for the villagers of Burin, just south of Nablus, the Israeli Army invaded the east of the village on Thursday afternoon terrorising residents and firing volleys of tear gas. The youth bravely defended the village from yet another Army attack.
Burin is surrounded by the illegal settlements of Bracha and Yitzhar. The village suffers daily harassment and terrorism from the Army and settlers, which seek to steal more land and intimidate villagers. The village is particularly targeted by the Army due to its brave resistance to such attacks and steadfastness.
In the last year alone Burin lost 1423 olive trees and 420 almond trees, the main source of income for villagers, to settlers and Army terrorism.
SFP has been supporting Burin village to remain steadfast and part of this support is through the planting of more olive trees. We will be planting in Burin tomorrow, Friday 7 February. We would be ever so grateful if you would consider donating so we can buy more olive trees and support more villages like Burin and share and encourage your friends to donate.
