On Thursday morning the Israeli Army invaded Birzeit, a neighbourhood of Ramallah, and murdered 24 year old Muatazz Washaha in his home. The Army fired live ammunition and shelled his home for several hours, where Muatazz had taken shelter. He was murdered by live ammunition aimed at his head, in an execution style.

The Army allege Muatazz was wanted, however wanted for what is unknown and does not explain the extreme force used against him as he sought shelter from the bombardment in what ought to be a place of safety for us all, our homes. In an act of steadfastness and bravery Muatazz said:

I will not surrender to those bastards.

No shot were ever fired towards the soldiers. His murder is another act of extreme terrorism by Israel. The Army destroyed the house, bombarding it with shells.

SFP send their sincere condolences to his family at this tragic time. Several SFP members attended the hospital and home to directly express our sadness. In honour of Muatazz and all the martyrs of Palestine and freedom fighters around the world, we ask the world to end the impunity against Israel’s terrorism and join the campaign for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS).
