In the early hours of Wednesday morning, approximately 01:30am, the Israeli Army invaded the village of Burqa, northwest of Nablus, and terrorised the home of Samir Salah Abu Majid. Soldiers blew off the door of his home and damaged property in a search of his home. The soldiers left the property without arresting anyone. Samir already has a son in Apartheid prisons for the last year and a half.
On Monday the village was placed under curfew while soldiers destroyed a bathroom facility located in the nearby Mas’oudia Park.
In figures released by the Israeli Army around 8,000 Palestinian men, women and children from the West Bank were detained by the military in 2013. These figures do not take into account night raids into Palestinian villages where no arrests were made for which no data is publicly available. These figures suggest that multiple night raids are being conducted into Palestinian villages most nights of the year. SFP has reported on many such raids on the villages surrounding Nablus city.
To help end this impunity and terrorism SFP asks all people around the world that are not already doing so to join the Palestinians struggle for freedom and abide by the call for boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Apartheid Israel.
