09/07/14: All the Walls must fall – From the West Bank to Gaza

At approximately 15:30 on Wednesday 9 July Palestinians headed to the Apartheid Wall near Qalqliya city, to implement the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) advisory opinion that the Wall be removed from Palestinian lands.

Today marks 10 years since the ICJ issued its opinion that the Wall, and the policy of colonialism, is illegal and States should work towards its removal.

10 years on it continues to be built on stolen Palestinian land, creating further suffering for Palestinians of the West Bank and Gaza, who are also under siege.

Today activists said:

This Apartheid Wall seeks to divide and steal not protect. Like Berliners over 20 years ago, we will tear down this Wall and unite people, removing the hand of oppression and Apartheid that weighs heavy on our people’s lives.

Activists went on to say:

With the lack of international Government’s action following the ICJ’s recommendations it is in the people’s hands to implement justice. As bombs rain down on our Gazan brothers and sisters we implore the people of Palestine to head to the Wall’s from both sides and join us in removing this oppression from our lands.

At the time of writing Gaza is under Israeli bombardment and there are currently 39 murdered. we ask all those around the world to hear the cries of the Palestinians and bring down the Walls that divide us and unite to end the Occupation of Palestine.
