On Friday 28 November activists from SFP joined activists from the Ramallah area popular resistance to march from Jericho to Jerusalem to highlight the unity of the West Bank of Palestine with Palestine’s capital city, Jerusalem. The peaceful protestors were met with volley’s of tear gas and sound bombs by the Israeli Army.
In recent months Apartheid Israel has stepped up its attacks on the capital of Palestine, Jerusalem. They have been seeking to further encircle the capital with illegal Jewish only colonies, cutting it off from the West Bank of Palestine. Numerous violent attacks on the Palestinians of Jerusalem have taken place, mass internment and home demolitions.
On the day before the UN’s international day of solidarity with the Palestinian people, SFP took to the streets with other Palestinians to assert their resistance and steadfastness in the face of the violent colonial Occupation. SFP also joins calls for all people around the world to escalate their activities against the Israeli Occupation and those that profit from it. Activists also paid tribute to the role of some European Governments of taking the step of recognising the State of Palestine.
