07/11/14: SFP and Nablus face the Occupation in solidarity with Al Quds

Following noon prayers on Friday 7 November SFP and the youth of Nablus simultaneously marched on Huwwara checkpoint, just south of Nablus, and Beit Furik checkpoint, to the east of the city.  The Israeli Army opened fire on the demonstrators with live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets and tear gas. Four youth were hit with live bullets and transferred to Rafidia hospital for treatment.

The march was organised in support of occupied Jerusalem (Al Quds) and the Al Asqa compound, home to the Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site in Islam. The Compound has come under sustained attack from Jewish terrorists, supported by the Israeli Army. Israel regularly attacks the holy Compound and restricts Palestinians from worshipping.

SFP calls on people of all faiths and denominations around the World to join the Palestinians struggle for freedom and the protection of the holy city of Jerusalem from Apartheid Israel. We encourage people to join the Palestinian call for boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) and to actively world to highlight those companies and Government’s that facilitate and support the illegal Occupation of Palestine.

26/07/14: We are all Gaza: No Eid, while everyday Shaheed (martyr)

Today, as everyday since the massacre began, SFP and the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees (UPWC) marched on Huwwara checkpoint. Army jeeps were stationed on the illegal settlement road adjacent to the checkpoint and attacked the activists, which included a majority of women. The Army fired volleys of tear gas and several activists suffered tear gas inhalation. Two activists were also hit with rubber coated steel bullets fired directly at activists.

SFP and UPWC will not be intimidated. The activists were clear, they stated:

We are all Gaza: No Eid, while everyday there are martyrs.

SFP and UPWC faced the Occupation for all the martyrs, including those murdered in Huwwara village yesterday. The funeral of the two young men took place shortly before the activists marched on Huwwara checkpoint. As well as more than 1,000 dead in Gaza, at least 6,000 people have been injured. The UN said more than 160,000 people had sought shelter in its buildings, and thousands more had fled their homes to stay with relatives and friends in what are thought to be safer areas. 8 Palestinians in the West Bank area of Palestine have been murdered and hundreds injured as the Army opens fire on solidarity demonstrations across Palestine.

SFP has been stepping up its resistance to the illegal Occupation, determined to face the war criminals and not just demand justice but take it. SFP and UPWC have jointly been imploring all Palestinians and people around the world to join the struggle. We particularly welcome and encourage women, who have been leading the resistance in SFP. To find out how to join us please click here.

SFP appeal – Yesterday, while supporting the popular resistance in Khirbet Atuf, the Israeli Army stole SFP’s only camera. This is our only weapon against the Army and settler attacks. While we appreciate people are rightly prioritising donations for Gaza at this time, we would be very grateful if you were able to donate towards SFP urgently purchasing a replacement. Or share this appeal with your friends and colleagues. To donate please click here.

26/07/14: The Northern West Bank continues to resist: reports from Huwwara checkpoint and Beit Furik

On Friday evening/ Saturday morning activists from SFP joined youth at Huwwara checkpoint to face the Occupation. The Army were firing volleys of tear gas and rubber coated steel bullets at the youth. Fortunately no one was seriously injured. The night before several youth, including SFP  activists, had been hit with the bullets.

In Beit Furik, just east of Nablus, the invading Army were met with strong resistance from the villagers. Several youth were injured and dozens suffered suffocation from tear gas inhalation.

الان على حاجز بيت فوريك شرقي نابلس مواجهات  بين شبان البلده وقوات الاحتلال … ويوجد اصابات اختناق بالغاز لعدد من الشبان غير معروف

This comes as the death toll in Gaza reached 867 and 8 murdered in the West Bank, and thousands injured in Gaza. Dozens have also been injured in the West Bank as the Army opened fire with live ammunition.

The pictures below are representative as SFP had our camera stolen by the Israeli Army yesterday. Please see the report here. We want to thank all those that have donated money to our brothers and sisters in Gaza. While Gaza of course must remain all our priority if you were able to donate towards buying a new camera we would be very grateful. It is really the only weapon we have against the Army. Or please share this appeal with your friends and colleagues. You can donate using our PayPal account (tax deductible for American citizens) here.

25/07/14: The Jordan Valley rises and Nablus mourns

At noon on Friday SFP activists joined the youth of Tamon and Khirbet Atuf as they marched towards their land which is used as a training zone for the Army. As they marched they were met by 5 Army jeeps and a lorry used to fire toxic water at Palestinians, known as “skunk water”. The Army fired live ammunition and rubber coated steel bullets hitting two of the youth. They also fired volleys of tear gas and sprayed the activists with the skunk water. 4 young people were arrested and SFP and Tamons cameras were stolen by the Army.

Since the massacre on Gaza began, the West Bank and ’48 areas of Palestine have been rising up against the illegal Occupation. Today 3 Palestinians were murdered in Beit Ummar and 2 in Huwwara village, just south of Nablus. As the killing by a blood thirsty Israel continues, the total of those murdered in Gaza has risen to over 800.

SFP implores Palestinians and the world to hear the cries from Gaza and rise up to end the illegal and murderous Occupation of Palestine.

SFP also kindly asks if anyone could urgently donate towards a new camera for SFP. This is the only weapon we have to report and document the crimes committed against us as we continue to demonstrate for the liberation of our land and people. To donate please click here.

24/07/14: Nablus rising: Gaza we hear your call

On Thursday afternoon activists from SFP and the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees (UPWC) marched towards Huwwara checkpoint, just south of Nablus, to face the Occupation. They were met with a volley of tear gas, stun grenades and rubber coated steel bullets. Two activists were hit with the potentially lethal bullets and required medical treatment. Despite the violence they faced SFP activists stood firm and lit fireworks towards the Occupation as a symbol of their support for the Palestinian resistance in Gaza.

SFP has been leading the march against the illegal Occupation, regularly demonstrating at Huwwara checkpoint. SFP activists, led by female members, said:

Gaza we hear your cries. Nablus is rising and we will continue to march until we reach the beaches of Gaza and Yaffa and open all the roads home.

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, Israel had murdered 736 Palestinians, and wounded a further 4,563. Overnight Israeli attacks have killed at least 23, including 10 members of one family. The death toll for Wednesday was 73, with intense (and ongoing) strikes on the Khazaa and al-Fakhari areas of Khan Younis. A briefing by UN OCHA said yesterday that Israel’s attack has, so far, damaged 90 schools, destroyed or severely damaged 2,655 homes, otherwise damaged a further 3,175, and damaged 18 health facilities.

The UN agency put civilian fatalities at 77% of the total Palestinian death toll, including 165 children. Hundreds of thousands of people in Gaza are now completely without power, while hundreds of thousands more are rationed up to five hours of electricity a day.

Yesterday, a Palestinian from Husan village near Bethlehem died of his wounds after being shot in the head by Israeli forces during a protest against the Gaza massacre, the third Palestinian killed in the West Bank this week.

SFP and UPWC implores not only people around the world, but also our fellow Palestinians to rise up. To find out how to join SFP please click here.

22/07/14: Tear gas at Iftar in Burin and Huwwara

As the village of Burin prepared to break their days fast, known as Iftar, the Israeli Army invaded, indiscriminately firing tear gas, stun grenades and rubber coated steel bullets. The brave youth of the village defended the village against the attack, which went on for four hours.

This came at the same time as a large demonstration marched on Huwwara checkpoint, just south of Nablus and east of Burin. The Army attacked the demonstrators who were calling for an end to the massacre against Gaza and their determination to continue their solidarity with their brothers and sisters in the besieged eastern Palestine.

SFP has been and continues to join the marches on Huwwara and calls on all Palestinians to face the Occupation across Palestine and rise up in support of Gazans. For further information and SFP’s latest action at Huwwara please click here.

14/07/14: Nablus will not allow the lights to go out for Gaza

Following their action in Huwwara checkpoint today, SFP activists joined Palestinian political parties and associations in a candle lit vigil for Gaza. Hundreds of Nablusi’s gathered to light candles and then marched around the main square of Nablus, shouting slogans and support for Gaza.

On early Monday morning the Gazan Ministry of Health stated that there were 172 murdered and 1260 injured. 36 of those murdered were children and 26 were women. In a UN OCHA briefing it was stated that 80% of those murdered were civilians. The death toll has since risen as Apartheid Israel continues it’s blood lust.

SFP implores people around the world to continue and step up their efforts by showing solidarity through demonstrations, boycotting and contacting your respective representatives to demand an end to Israel’s killing. We would also like to thank all those that have already shown their support and continue to do so. Even when the bombs stop dropping Palestine will still be occupied and we ask you all to keep the light shining on the Occupation until all of Palestine is free.
